With the rising popularity and availability of bench attachments, it was about time that I made a helpful overview. Especially, since most companies don’t list this information on their website. So, I’ve listed the specs of several of the adjustable benches available in Europe below.
For each bench I’ve listed the dimensions of the attachment point on the bench itself, and the hole diameter of the attachment. I’ve also listed the entry point of the pin and where the attachment mounts on the bench. But, remember that compatibility between brands also depend on alignment, pin insertion depth, and mounting clearance. So, use this list as initial inspiration before going more into details yourself.
This is still a work in progress. Please comment below or contact me via e-mail or instagram if you got a particular bench in mind that I need to add.
Powertec Workbench
- Bench Attachment Point Dimensions: 4,6 x 4,6 cm
- Attachment Hole Diameter: 1,2
- Pin enters in front of the bench from the back.
ATX
- Bench Attachment Point Dimensions: awaiting confirmation
- Attachment Hole Diameter: awaiting confirmation
- Pin enters in front of the bench from the front
REP
- Bench Attachment Point Dimensions: awaiting confirmation
- Attachment Hole Diameter: awaiting confirmation
- Pin enters from underneath on the back pad
Ironmaster
- Bench Attachment Point Dimensions: 5 x 5 cm
- Attachment Hole Diameter: awaiting confirmation
- Pin enters from underneath on the back pad
Atletica B2*
- Bench Attachment Point Dimensions: 5 x 5 cm
- Attachment Hole Diameter: 15 x 12 mm (not perfectly circular)
- Pin enters in front of the bench from the back.
*The B2 line has a weird nomenclature. So watch out. The regular B2 Weight Bench can’t fit any attachments. And you can’t buy a version of the B2 bench that takes attachments separately. You can only buy the B2 Armmaster (comes with preacher curls), the B2 Legmaster (comes with leg extension) or the B2 Fullbody (comes with both). But you can buy the attachments separately.
Peak Fitness Heavy Duty FID Bench*
- Bench Attachment Point Dimensions: 4,8 x 4,8 cm
- Attachment Hole Diameter: 1,1 cm
- Pin enters in front of the bench from the back.
*I can’t recommend this bench itself without reinforcing it (which I did). I once owned one that couldn’t hold up to 2-3 months of 60-80 kg leg extentions once or twice a week. But the attachments are decent and pretty cheap. Their new Peak Fitness Utility FID Bench looks like it has a much more sturdy attachment point.
