Hello there
I am a 31-year-old dad who works as a full-time medical doctor.
For decades, I used to dream about having a homegym one day, and I would always be looking at equipment. When the Pandemic hit, I was coincidentally in the process of buying a house with my wife. Hence, I now had loads of great reasons to convince my wife to let me start buying gym equipment. Only problem… I still lived in an 70m² apartment. So my Homegym v.1.0 looked like this:
Then we moved to our new house, where I had plans to build an outbuilding to accommodate my coming homegym. But first we had to save up more money, plan out the build, finish our medical studies and have our son. Therefore, for about two years, I trained in a spare bedroom a.k.a. Homegym v.2.0:
After the first year in the spare bedroom, I expanded the homegym by building an outdoor platform in the garden:
The outdoor platform only lived for one year. As we started building homegym v.3.0, the platform had to go. The outbuilding, which we currently train in, was finished in oktober 2022. Since then, I have aquired loads of new and awesome equipment now that I have the space for it:
Through my job as a doctor, I have a great interest in preventative medicine. And as I went deeper and deeper into the Homegym Rabbit Hole, I started to accumulate loads of experience that I wished to share with other people. Furthermore, I realized how difficult it was to have an overview of the available brands in Europe since all the big Review sites were American.
All of this led me to start my Instagram page “Homegym Vault Europe”, which has helped me reach many awesome people and brands. But… it is also a platform that heavily favours “click bait”, short attention grapping pieces and stupid stunts. So for months I have been thinking about starting a website in order to focus more on longer and more detailed pieces while creating a proper library for everyone from beginners to massive homegym geeks in order to help people stay fit and healthy.
Yours Sincerely
Thomas
